Diabetes MSc, PGDip, PGCert

In collaboration with the University of Leicester uur course is ideal for healthcare professionals who wish to specialise in diabetes from either a primary or secondary care background.

This degree will give you the chance to study within one of Europe’s largest diabetes facilities, the Leicester Diabetes Centre, which offers a unique combination of ground-breaking research and dynamic clinical services.

You will benefit from the specialist knowledge of the experienced and high profile academic staff from the Centre and the University of Leicester. The ongoing research published by the Leicester Diabetes Centre ensures that all the materials you use will be relevant and up to date.

This course comprises a range of modules, combining the most topical thinking around clinical care and research in adults with practical examples of how novel research and evidence-based diabetes care can be applied in real life, clinical settings.

Effective Diabetes Education Now! (EDEN)

The key aim of EDEN is to up skill healthcare professions who are delivering diabetes care. EDEN is a comprehensive training package, which provides knowledge and skills to deliver high levels of diabetes care to patients in the community. It is hoped that this more effective model will reduce hospital admissions and referrals to specialist care. It underpins the transformation of diabetes services and strategy.

EDEN offers both one and two day mini modules covering topics from insulin management to hypoglycaemia, to shorter study days and evenings designed to fit around the hectic schedule of busy healthcare professionals.

EDEN training enables practices to achieve enhanced level competencies or build on existing levels of diabetes care in core practices, whilst also addressing cultural diversity in diabetes.

Bespoke Training

Leicester Diabetes Centre has a team of experienced clinicians, educators and researchers who are able to deliver all types of training to meet individual learning requirements delivered through innovative and experiential learning. We compile bespoke training programmes that can be delivered here at the LDC, which has purpose built facilities or alternatively at national / international venues.

We work collaboratively with health care providers / commissioners and pharmaceutical industries to design a programme of learning to suit their unique and diverse needs.
