NEWS: DTN-UK wins RCP Excellence in Patient Care Awards for digital driven projects

The Diabetes Technology Network UK (DTN-UK) innovative Flash Glucose Collaboration has won the prestigious Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Excellence in Patient Care Awards.

The collaboration is alliance between the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD), DTN-UK and NHS England.The award recognises and rewards the use of new or existing technologies or digitally driven projects that have contributed to significant improvements in patient care or health outcomes.

The Flash Glucose Collaboration has facilitated the roll-out of flash glucose devices across the NHS and supported both people with diabetes and healthcare professionals with training and education.

DNT-UK is an organisation designed to support UK health care professionals who are involved in the delivery of technologies designed to improve the lives of people living with diabetes and is part of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists.

The DTN-UK is chaired by Dr Patrik Choudhary and led by LDC alumni Dr Emma Wilmot.

Dr Choudhary will be joining the LDC from King’s College London, where he was a Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Specialist Registrar. As part of his work at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, Professor Choudhary will play a leading role in Leicester’s NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), in redesigning how clinical care is delivered for type 1 diabetes and generating new insights into diabetes technology.
