Dr. Michelle Hadjiconstantinou

Research Fellow in Behavioural Science

Michelle is a Research Fellow in Behavioural Science, and holds a Chartered Psychology membership with the British Psychological Society. 

Michelle has ten years of research experience in diabetes prevention, self-management and the psychosocial aspects of diabetes, and holds a well-established portfolio in qualitative research methods. Michelle’s main interests are in self-management, digital health, diabetes-related distress, and behaviour change. She is strongly involved in the design, development and evaluation of face-to-face and digital self-management education programmes, including our digital programme, which is currently available for people with type 2 diabetes across the UK (myDESMOND). In addition to Michelle’s research and psychology role, she is also a dissertation supervisor for students enrolled in the University of Leicester MSc Diabetes course. Michelle works closely with the IMPACT team to ensure that the programmes developed are tailored to people living with or at risk of a long-term condition.
