Abseiling for the future of diabetes
Professor of diabetes set to abseil down the Leicester Royal Infirmary’s Windsor Building to raise funds for type 1 diabetes centre of excellence.
Professor Pratik Choudhary, Professor Honorary Consultant in Diabetes, University of Leicester and Leicester Diabetes Centre, will be abseiling down six storeys of the Leicester Royal Infirmary’s Windsor Building on Sunday 11th September to raise funds for the type 1 diabetes centre of excellence.
Taking part in the Big Abseil 2022 with Leicester Hospitals Charity, Pratik, along with his daughter, Diya plan to secure funds for the type 1 diabetes centre of excellence.
The aim of the centre is to provide a state-of-the-art facility for the Leicestershire community, with access to the very best clinical care underpinned by pioneering research excellence. The centre will use the latest diabetes technologies and support seamless virtual care to help people living with type 1 diabetes.
Professor Pratik Choudhary said:
“Being able to raise funds to improve research and clinical care for people with type 1 diabetes is amazing. Diya and I are looking forward to the big abseil and hope you can generously support this cause to raise money for the type 1 and technology centre.”
