Steps4Health is an online programme for anyone over 18 wanting to become more active or anyone living with a long-term health condition such as obesity or diabetes. Steps4Health provides a personalised physical activity programme and ongoing support to help improve your health by becoming more active.
Steps4Health aims to provide information for individuals living with long-term health conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure, as well as those wanting to increase their physical activity more generally.

How does Steps4Health work?
Steps4Health allows you to connect with your Fitbit, mobile phone or other activity monitors via Google Fit. You can also use Steps4Health without an activity monitor.
Steps4Health will ask questions about your mobility and activity levels before generating an activity plan that is appropriate for you.
Additionally, you can access interactive learning sessions about your daily activities, booster sessions to learn more about staying active while managing a health condition and a range of workout/exercise videos.

About Steps4Health
Steps4Health aims to provide a personalised physical activity programme with continued feedback and progression, based on the latest research and designed specifically for people with long-term health conditions.
Steps4Health has been developed by the Leicester Lifestyle and Health Research Group at the Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC), at Leicester General Hospital.
The LDC team undertakes ground-breaking research, harnessing diet and movement behaviours across the 24-hour day as therapies in the prevention and management of long-term conditions, including diabetes. The team’s research in this area has changed and improved international guidance on physical activity and long-term conditions.
*free until December 2025 at which point all existing users will be able to continue using the programme for free but where there may be a charge imposed for new users.
